So, as I just posted, League of Legends Latin servers are finally open to play. But I’m one of those guys who doesn’t like translations… I hate them. So, I don’t like the game on Spanish, and the launcher won’t allow me to change it to English. If I want it in English, I need to change region. Well, I just went ahead and force it to English.
To change the language, you need to go to your LoL folder. In my case is something like:
E:\Riot\League of LegendsYou can have something else. When you manage to get into that folder, go into RADS > System (E:\Riot\League of Legends\RADS\system). You’ll see a bunch of .cfg files, to open them use the notepad.
The file you want to open is the locale.cfg. You’ll open it and change the language that appears (in my case “es_mx”) to the language you want (in my case “en_us”). When you change it, save the file and close it.
Now, don’t open the launcher just yet. If you open it, it will return to es_mx, or whatever it was. After closing, right click it > Properties. Set it to Read only.
Then click Ok, and now you can open your launcher. Note that you must have the language you want installed for this to work.
Thanks! This helped me out.
