WoWCraft: Episode 1 - The creation

Kill la kill in 16 seconds

Kill la Kill ended this week... It’s an awesome anime that everyone should see. One of the greatest things about this anime is the soundtrack: it was created by Hiroyuki Sawano, the guy behind the music of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Attack on Titan, Ao no exorcist, and (my personal favorite) Guilty Crown.

Create AdBlock custom filters and block rules

Even though is a little complicated than Firefox, you can block custom items in AdBlock for Chrome too. It’s just like this.

Click on the AdBlock button > Block element.

A message will appear, read it, and then click on the ad or element of the website that you want blocked. In this case, the ads on Facebook’s right bar.

When you click an element, all other elements with the same value will be selected too. Also, you’ll see a screen letting you know the address or rule that will be used to the element.

Now just click the Add button and reload the site.

Add Block lists to AdBlock Plus

Lately I’ve been assaulted by popup windows and messages, excessive adds, and unwanted functionalities from some sites, the reason is that AdBlock is deleting it’s blocking rules/filters. I don’t know why this is happening, but in case you’re going though this, here’s an easy solution.

Go to the AdBlock > Options.

In the first tab, Filter lists, click on +Add filter subscription.

2048: Join the numbers and get to the 2048 tile!

I’m always checking little online games that are a nice timewaster, and today I bring you 2048. This is a game played with the keyboard, and the only thing you need to do is move the tiles up, down, left, or right, so the ones that have the same number add themselves until you reach 2048.

The hard part is reaching high numbers enough times so they keep adding themselves, also I’m a little slow for these type of games, and that makes it even more addictive.

YawCam, Yet Another Webcam software, this is a free program that, unlike tons of others, will let you easy stream your webcam to see it through your browser.

Always on Top: Force windows to be on top of others

Always on Top is a very simple, useful, and portable app created by the guys at Digital Inspiration. It does exactly what the name says, by using a keyboard shortcut (CTRL+Space Bar) you can set a window to be on top of all others. You can set as many windows as you want, and those windows will be able to switch from top and behind while remaining on top of all the ones behind.

You can’t change the keyboard shortcut, BTW. And it doesn’t offer that many options either, but at least you can see the program running in the tray area.

FYI, the program may be recognize by some anti-virus as a virus, but it’s safe, don’t worry. Here’s a VirusTotal analysis.

Add YouTube channels to your RSS Feed reader

Although Feed reader are not that common these days, that doesn’t mean that no one keeps using them. A trick I learned a few weeks ago is how to add YouTube channels into the feed reader. No, YouTube doesn’t have a button for this, but you can do it anyway.

Go to a channel, like penguinz0’s, right click any part of the page and go to View page source.

Now look for the word “feeds”.

Go to your feed reader and just paste it.

YSK you can Download Imgur Albums and YouTube Playlists using jDownloader

Something that many don’t know and is very necessary, jDownloader allows you to easily download complete Imgur albums and YouTube playlists using only the URL. Just go to an Imgur Album or a YouTube Playlist and let the program do the rest.

I don’t know if this is available with the stable version, but in case it won’t work be ready to download the beta version... just in case.

Download complete albums from Imgur

I already told you about a tool that allowed you to download albums from hundreds of different sites, rip archives, but the site is down until who knows when, so, here’s a simple trick to download Imgur albums from Imgur itself.

Go to the album (try this one about Naruto) and click the Download option. Depending on the layout you’re using, the position may vary.

Now, if the album is small, the download should start immediately, otherwise, you’ll see this popup. Yes, put your email.

Hide categories without updates on Feedly

This is one of the easiest and practical features on Feedly, and not many people know about it, so let’s spread the word. To hide all categories without updates go to the preferences (click this link). In the Categories With No Updates switch the option from Show to Hide.

And that’s it, and since it’s saves automatically you’ll see the changes immediately.

Remove the sharing/social buttons from Feedly

I’ve been using feedly for a long time now and one of the things that have bothered me from the beginning is the excessive use of the sharing options/buttons in every post, and in some cases, you can see the “Pin It” option above images, which is very annoying.

Now, let’s remove all that. Go to Preferences on the left, or click here.

Scroll down until you see the Sharing area and disable all the stuff you don’t want on your feed. The available are

• Custom sharing icon
• Evernote
• Instapaper
• Pocker
• Google+
• Twitter
• Facebook
• LinkedIn
• Buffer
• Email
• Hootsuite
• Readability
• Pinterest

The changes will be saved as you change them and you get to see them in real time as well.

WoW: Warlords of Draenor Racial changes

Today a list of new racials was posted on the WoW forums displaying some mayor changes to all races, these are made thinking on a more balanced game, where all player can be equal as others regardless of the race. Yes, the racials continue to be different for all races, but they are now more generic than before.

Dwarf

• Crack Shot (was 1% Expertise with ranged weapons) and
  Mace Specialization (was 1% Expertise with maces) has been replaced with Might of the Mountain.
• Might of the Mountain is a new racial passive ability that increases Critical Strike bonus damage and healing dealt by 2%.

Tauren

• Brawn is a new racial passive ability that increases Critical Strike bonus damage and healing done by 2%.
• Endurance now increases Stamina by an amount scaling with character level, instead of increasing Base Health by 5%.

Gnome

• Shortblade Specialization (was 1% Expertise with one-handed swords and daggers) has been replaced with Nimble Fingers.
  • Nimble Fingers is a new racial passive ability that increases Haste by 1%.

Goblin

• Time is Money now grants a 1% increase to Haste (up from only attack speed and spell haste).

Night Elf

• Quickness now also increases movement speed by 2% in addition to increasing Dodge chance by 2%.
• Touch of Elune is a new passive ability which increases Haste by 1% at night, and Critical Strike Chance by 1% during the day.

Anyway, they are professional game designers, they know way more about gaming than me, but as Darnell says, Blizzard one day will get tired and make everyone a mage.

YSK how to quickly move files between folders on Windows

Ok, instead of setting up an hypothetical case, let me show you one:

I downloaded a full album of Chuunibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai! and I need to move the images I like from Downloads to my Theme folder, these folders are located on the disc C and D respectively. Now, I could use a CTRL+X /CTRL+V combination, but that’s just a waste of time.

To move files quickly just press the Shift key while you move the files. Like this:

On the other side, if you want to copy files, you can press the CTRL key instead.

Twitch Plays Pokemon: Pokemon Crystal

I don’t know if you know, but Twitch.tv is doing a very awesome Pokemon MMO, and I don’t mean the usual MMO, no, this one is way better. On Twitch Plays Pokemon you get to type in the chat the buttons that you want to be pressed on the game, these would be A, B, the arrow keys, Start, and Select. 

This... game mode is amazingly fun and frustrating. But the game already finished once, and there is a big chance that this will end as well, only that will take more time probably.

You can go and play with everyone as well, remember, just type the button you want to press on the chat, and let the anarchy begin!
